There is an estimated number of 27 MILLION slaves in the world we live in today. Out of the 27 MILLION trafficked, 80% involves sexual exploitation. The average age of young women being trafficked are from ages 12 to 14. That's the age of my youngest sister... 12 years old. It is heartbreaking to imagine how these victims live and how they are to live their life, if even possible, with these deep deep mental, emotional, and physical wounds.
I was extremely humbled as I was able to take part of what the Lord put in my heart. Given the theme of hope and freedom, this drawing represents that even the deepest and darkest of wounds can be healed and transformed. Even the most hopeless can find the greatest hope.
He is truth. He is life.
