Most people define success as acquiring wealth, having status and having power. If one succeeds, one can enjoy and have a "good life." The "good life" being financially & emotionally secure, to be able to enjoy the fruits of ones good, hard earned labor.
This piece is an illustration of one of the most influential persons in my life, my dad. I wanted the audience to experience a sense of his struggles as he battles to reach "success."

...and then the viewer feels what the painter may have felt spending hours on this piece of their father, the most influential person in her life...
